What I do

I see the potential in no longer wanted garments. Wool with moth holes and silk and velvet with worn places still have corners of beautiful fabric waiting to be sewn into something that will be loved again. Yard sales, thrift stores, and great friends are my main source for creative supplies. I'm glad to see that upcycling is becoming more mainstream now and not something (as was in my Mother's and Grandmother's day) to apologize for.

My Corner

I haven't seen my cutting surface for a LONG time. Now that it is tidied it is time to mess it up again. I am collecting denim to make a quilt for Sam. I thought I'd try some Sashiko quilting to decorate each hexagon.

Inch by Inch

I found a great pattern for using up bits of yarn. I have some Bamboo yarn, Jennifer gave me some thrift store found wool yarn, and I bought one precious skein of Alpaca yarn at the market.

Something else I have been working on. LOTS of French knots.

Market

Cinnamon Honey cookies

Chocolate Peanut Butter Honey treats

Peanut Butter Honey treats

Muffins and scones. Saturday is market day. It was very slow just after the holidays but there is always next week. Just before Christmas the vendor who makes chocolates bought our last jar of honey blueberry jam. They came back with a new chocolate they named Blueberries and Cream - DELICIOUS! I see a lot more jam production for us this summer.
